Save the Animals: A World Map

The original collage of this world map is made entirely out of animals cut from recycled magazines and Goodwill children's books. I worked on the map for over a year, adding animals while also working on other projects. Each time I would find an animal I would look up where it was located so the map is almost entirely geographically accurate.

The original is really beautiful to see. The added rocks, string and tissue paper really add to the all over three-dimensionality. It was framed by Steve at Fast Frame on Lake street in Minneapolis. He has lifted the piece off the matting and after spending as much time as was needed to frame this original Steve's response was "This piece is magical."

World Map reproductions are made with help from Terry at Artist's Resource Group in NE Minneapolis. His scanner can capture the dimensionality on a flat reproduction beautifully!
